POSITION PROFILE & RESPONSABILITIES
Within the Development team you will, together with your colleagues, mainly be responsible for writing the manuals of our software. Your versatile task package includes, among other things:
A. Collecting the necessary information by analysing the functional specifications of our software and interviewing the developers and product managers.
B. Determining the basic layout of the manual-to-be, via the organising of the information acquired into a logical structure.
C. Writing out the manual, in English, subject by subject, via structured writing, using professional tools.
D. Guaranteeing the readability of the manuals with a good and clear use of language and a well-organized layout.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Preferable you have some experience with similar tasks as described above.
2. Experience writing of manuals or courses and knowing how to use professional editing tools.
3. You have a higher education in Human Sciences and yet you are interested in technology, but above all you find it easy to express yourself clearly and you have the ability to easily assess persons and situations.
4. As an analytical person, you can be very original in your use of language
5. Your tenacious character and systematic way of working allow you to execute your tasks in an organised and systematic fashion.
6. You have a thorough command of the English language, spoken as well as written.

FUNCTIE INHOUD & VERANTWOORDELIJKHEDEN
Na een intensieve inwerkperiode zal u als Technical Writer binnen het Development team, samen met uw collega’s voornamelijk verantwoordelijk zijn voor het schrijven van de handleidingen van onze software. Tot uw veelzijdig takenpakket behoren o.a.:
A. Benodigde informatie verzamelen door het analyseren van de functionele specificaties van onze software en het interviewen van developers en product managers.
B. Vastleggen van het basiskelet van de toekomstige handleiding, via het ordenen van de verkregen info in een logische structuur.
C. Onderwerp per onderwerp de handleiding uitschrijven in het Engels via structured writing, gebruik makend van professionele tools.
D. De leesbaarheid van de handleidingen garanderen door een goed en duidelijk verstaanbaar taalgebruik en overzichtelijke lay-out.
GEWENSTE KWALIFICATIES
1. U heeft bij voorkeur reeds een eerste ervaring met soortgelijke taken als hierboven beschreven van A tot en met D.
2. Het schrijven van handleidingen of cursussen is een kolfje naar uw hand, waarbij u gebruik kan maken van professionele editing tools.
3. U heeft een hogere opleiding genoten in de humane wetenschappen en bent toch geïnteresseerd in technologie, maar bovenal kan u zich duidelijk uitdrukken en getuigen van een groot inlevingsvermogen.
4. Als analytisch ingesteld persoon kan u bijzonder oorspronkelijk zijn in uw woordgebruik.
5. Uw vasthoudend karakter en systematische manier van werken laten u toe uw taken op een georganiseerde en planmatige manier uit te voeren.
6. U heeft een uitstekende kennis van de Engelse taal, zowel gesproken als geschreven.
