ARTA Mobile Applications Platform

Artilium develops advanced Mobile 2.0 software for telecoms networks. Artilium’s ARTA Mobile Applications Platform opens mobile telecoms networks to third-party applications and connected social media, generating a new value-chain that includes advertisers, content providers, Internet service providers, social networks, mobile network operators and software developers.

ARTA activates mobile networks for the coming wave of mobile application development and innovation, converging the ‘three Cs’ of mobile, Communication (voice, data), Customer (rating, charging), and Context (mobile presence), with the ‘three Cs’ of the Internet: Content (new media, advertising), Commerce (payments, money transfer), and Community (social networking), generating valuable “mashups” (applications that combine data from more than one source).

ARTA is designed as a ‘cloud’ based software platform for rapid mobile network integration and cross-network aggregation of applications. Microsoft-based to power engagement with the sector’s most sophisticated developer community, ARTA is handset independent and supports all mobile device operating systems including Windows Mobile, Google Android, Apple, and Symbian.

Strategy

ARTA opens mobile networks to the Internet; producing a sea-change as disruptive to as the Microsoft DOS operating system was to the mainframe computing industry at the dawn of the PC era.

ARTA is in effect an operating system for mobile applications, a standardised framework for a variable system, mapping call-flows and other mobile network data in the same way that PC operating systems manage interaction with device drivers.

ARTA functions as a cloud-based gateway for new mobile applications, defining and provisioning the network to allow applications to safely exchange data and operate in a mobile “mesh” of inter-dependent processes. These functions are flexibly coupled with the underlying network operating system or programming languages. ARTA separates functions into distinct units (services), distributed over a network, combined and reused to create meta-services communicating with each other by passing data from one service to another, or by coordinating an activity between two or more services.

ARTA delivers on the precept of ubiquity that is essential to the promise of Mobile 2.0, enabling applications that exploit mobile network capabilities and intelligence, across all mobile networks, and on any handset.

Value Proposition

ARTA can be differentiated from other mobile applications initiatives and solutions as follows:

Flexible and fast mobile network connectivity via ARTA Direct Network Access (DNA), enabling cloud-based media orchestration architecture and session control infrastructure by providing rapid deployment, secure mobile network access, and cross-network interoperability, resulting in ‘always-on’ intelligent signal and content processing/routing, cross-network

Real-time subscriber data extraction and pattern matching via ARTA Mobile Presence, a behavioural profiling system based on continuous, intelligent, capture, combination and categorization of geo-spatial location, status and connectivity data to enable intelligent mapping and routing of highly relevant social networking, advertising and content delivery services.

Rapid applications delivery infrastructure via ARTA AppLAB, an online collaborative ecosystem and commercial marketplace that unites applications developers with operators, advertisers, brands, and service providers, centralizing, harmonizing and structuring cooperation, providing legal regulation and financial brokerage services to speed time-to-market and safeguard payment.
